The ways
that the words
suffer
from failure to form.
Nothing I can do to
force
my mouth to open
throat to work.

My eyes wet with
slow saline blinks
as they scream for your
attention
trying hopelessly to
expell words when my mouth
fails

In quiet recess' of my chest
lifeblood pumps slowly
to my fingers which
carress
curves of your body
your face
laced into memories
in my mind.

I make no attempt to distract
unfiltered thoughts
or
unhindered touches
I would fear them too
short
forgotten too
soon.

Attempts to help you
understand
fall into dark shadows
dancing along the walls
as we lay
together

Overwhelming silence cannot
eliminate
walls of comfort that
blossom
between us

Silence embraces us
quiet eyes close
bodies intertwine
sleep engulfs
Together we
dream.
